Location: Philadelphia, PA

Employment Type:

Full-Time : The initial three months are full-time.

Part-Time: After the initial three months, employees transition to part-time roles with a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Job Summary: 


We are seeking a dedicated Dietetic Technician to join our Clinical Nutrition team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive nutrition care services aimed at preventing and treating diseases, promoting health, and managing specialized nutritional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Conduct nutrition assessments, implement and monitor nutritional interventions, estimate nutritional intake, and assist in data collection.
  • Nutrition Education: Educate patients and families on special diets, formulas, and nutrition-related topics.
  • Enteral Feeding & Human Milk Management: Prepare and deliver enteral feeding orders, manage human milk inventory, and ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare team members, participate in quality assurance activities, and maintain professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Nutrition or related field (required); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a hospital setting or WIC program is preferred.
  • Certifications: Dietetic Technician-Registered (DTR) required within 9 months; Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) and ServSafe Certification preferred. 

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of pediatric nutrition, nutrient analysis, and medical nutrition therapy.
  • Competence in handling supplements, tube feedings, and infant formulas.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and mathematical calculations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform tasks that include bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs., and standing for extended periods.
  • Fine motor skills required for detailed work.

Working Environment:

  • May involve exposure to hot/cold environments, confined spaces, dusts, and chemicals.
  • Requires working in a hospital setting with potential biological or infectious agents.
